چکیده
The genus Janibacter was proposed by Martin et al. (1997) with the type species Janibacter limosus. The genus Janibacter belongs to the family Intrasporangiaceae in the order Actinomycetales. There are currently four species in the genus Janibacter : Janibacter limosus (Martin et al., 1997), Janibacter terrae (Yoon et al., 2000), Janibacter melonis (Yoon et al., 2004) and Janibacter anophelis (Kämpfer et al., 2006). Janibacter brevis, originally described by Imamura et al. (2000), has since been recognized as a heterotypic synonym of J. terrae (Lang et al., 2003). Based on phenotypic and chemotaxonomic properties, two strains we isolated from Palau were well matched to the description of the genus Janibacter. The phenotypic and phylogenetic characteristics of these strains, coupled with genomic DNA-DNA relatedness data, suggest that these strains belong to a novel species, Janibacter corallicola sp. nov.

Forty-four Thai isolates phenotypically assigned to the genus Gluconobacter were examined for 16S-23S rDNA ITS restriction analysis by MboII and SduI ( Bsp1286I) digestions. The Thai isolates tested were divided into seven groups: Group I for fourteen isolates, Group IX for one isolate, Group X for two isolates, Group V-2 for four isolates, Group XI for three isolates, Group IV for one isolate,...
